There are a total of 2 specialist training sectors in the overall A+ programme, of which passes in both are needed for your A+ qualification. Once you start your CompTIA A+, you will develop an understanding of how to build and repair PC's and operate in antistatic conditions. Fault finding and diagnostic techniques through hands on and remote access are also covered. Were you to add Network+ training, you'll also learn how to look after networks, which means you'll be able to apply for more senior positions.

A successful training package will incorporate wholly authorised simulation materials and exam preparation packages. Be sure that the simulated exams haven't just got questions on the correct subjects, but also asking them in the same way that the proper exam will pose them. It can really throw some people if the questions are phrased in unfamiliar formats. If you don't want to travel too far to work, then you may well find that a specialist locally based employment agency could work much better for you than some national concern, as they're going to know the jobs that are going locally.

Do make sure you don't put hundreds of hours of effort into your studies, and then do nothing more and leave it in the hands of the gods to sort out your employment. Get off your backside and start looking for yourself. Put as much focus into landing a good job as you did to get trained.

Get rid of a salesperson who recommends a training program without performing a 'fact-find' to assess your abilities plus your level of experience. Make sure they can draw from a generous product range so they're able to provide you with what's right for you. If you've got any real-world experience or some accreditation, you could discover that your appropriate starting-point is different from a beginner. It's usual to start with some basic PC skills training first. It can brush up on your current abilities and make the slope up to the higher-levels a little less steep.

Students looking to begin a career in IT normally have no idea of which direction is best, or which market to get certified in. Reading lists of IT career possibilities is just a waste of time. The vast majority of us don't even know what our next-door neighbours do at work each day - so we're in the dark as to the ins and outs of a specific IT job.
